SEARCHING FOR INDIGENOUS SINGER TO WORK ON A MUSICAL PROJECT: "CANADIAN REVOLUTION"
Greetings, I am a Toronto based singer/rapper named Gaiaisi working on a musical and video project called Canadian Revolution that is designed to bean all out assault on Canada's corporate government, environmental destruction, human inequality and ongoing colonial treatment of our First Nations. While my lyrics focus on the ecological and social ills wrought by criminals in government, I would like to also have the voice of a Native singer to speak/sing on the Canadian state's history of atrocities, ongoing to the murders happening across the country by cancerous mining and extraction industries such as the tar sands.
The music video will be filmed on Parliament Hill and at 24 Sussex Drive as soon as the song is ready, because the nature of this song is of a life and death matter in my mind,I am looking to record it and film the video as soon as possible. One segment of the video will feature Stephen Harper's quote about Canada not having a colonial history, and then proceed to show images and facts about our genocidal past and present. I am silmotaneously working on a campaign to incite Canada's Green Party and NDP to unify, to form a viable alternative to corporate government, and implement emergency measures to eliminate the use of industrial poisons and pesticides, shut down the tar sands, end deforestation, end poverty and Canada, and begin to finally recognize indigenous rights. While the policies of these parties may not be what some may see as perfect for indigenous peoples, (I am admittedly ignorant on how best to improve the situation, and part of the purpose here is to put these issues front and center into national debate, so we can start to heal) they would certainly represent a radical improvement, especially in areas of health care, water safety, affordable housing, and most importantly, protecting the land and waters that are the basis of all of our lives. The music video for Canadian Revolution will be deliberately designed to attack the Conservative and Liberal policies and promote environmental, social, and native justice, while 'bigging up' the prime political forces that are fighting for them in Parliament, and urging them to stop fighting each other and unify. A very rough demo of the song will be sent to anyone interested, and you can see some of my previous work at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQ3-805RNbQ And my website is www.gaiaisi.org If you are interested please contact Gabriel Nicolau

(Toronto and Montreal, Aug 19,2010) - Canada's
Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) got the message across last week that
cutting off mail delivery to Gaza is another abusive measure intended to
heighten the suffering and hardship of the besieged residents of the
occupied strip.
The Canada Boat to Gaza Campaign salutes the union
and its workers for their solidarity with our campaign and the
Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom. We look forward to
working with Canada Post and CUPW to facilitate in the best way possible
the delivery of mail to Gaza.
"The Canadian Boat to Gaza is eager to carry mail
to Gaza if the ban is not lifted soon" said Sandra Ruch, spokesperson
for the Canadian Boat to Gaza.
